If a file will not repair
Please include:
- The device or app that recorded the video (for example "Android phone, stock camera app" or "dashcam model")
- The file type (MP4, MOV or AVI) and the recording settings if you know them
- What happened to the recording (battery died, card removed, app crashed, interrupted copy)
- The browser and version you used
- The technical log: use the "Copy log" button under the tool and paste it into your email
Do not attach your video. Large attachments are not needed to diagnose most problems, and your footage may be private. If a file is needed, you will be told how to share only that.
Corrections and suggestions
If you find a factual mistake in a guide, or have a format or camera you would like supported, write to the same address. Verified corrections are made on the page and noted in the changelog on the About page.
What not to email
This is a free tool and cannot offer paid recovery of damaged storage. If a card or drive is failing, see the disclaimer and consider a professional recovery service.
